At present, Artificial Intelligence is the focal point of discussions in the tech sphere, with transformative applications like Chat GPT and Midjourney gaining unprecedented popularity. Remarkably, ChatGPT achieved a milestone of 100 million monthly active users in January 2023, setting a record as the fastest-growing application until it was surpassed by "Threads" in July 2023. To contextualize, TikTok and Instagram took 9 months and 2.5 years, respectively, to reach the same user count. While the initial hype for Threads has waned, the utilization of GPT-based models has remained consistently robust over time.
AI is more relevant for software engineers right now. Github Copilot, Chat GPT, Code Whisperer and lots of other very competent coding companions are helping developers to write, understand, and debug code faster. On the other side, the possibility of a whole new genre of applications is opening up because of APIs from AI companies. We will try to cover the basics and then show a guideline for you to dive into this exciting new world of Generative AI.
